General Instructions For Installing Off-Road Fenders

Installing fenders for your vehicle is not an easy job. It requires a lot of technical expertise and is a laborious job. You might try installing the fenders yourself for your vehicle. However, it is advisable to get that done by a garage mechanic. The installation procedures for different types of fenders differ. But, there is a standardized procedure that is applicable to all types of installation procedures.

Many people try to install fenders and other technical parts of vehicles with the help of technical and self-help manuals. After the installation is over it should be certified as safe for driving by a technical expert. Otherwise, inefficient installation might bring in hazards for you and your vehicle. Incorrect installation might also result in the fenders or other installed parts getting damaged later on. Hence self-help guides should be used by novices only to know the procedure of installing fenders and work during emergency. But the vehicle should be tried and tested only after getting certification from a credible authority.

Installation of off-road fenders requires the usage of specific tools. Be sure to assimilate the requisite infrastructure before starting off with the installation process. In most of the states the Department of Transportation has strict rules and regulations regarding installation procedures and methodologies. These should be adhered to without any deviation; otherwise, you might be penalized by the authority if they happen to inspect your vehicle someday.

The first thing that you have to do while installing the off-road fender is to remove the screws, nuts, brackets, and clips. But you have to be very careful about storing them in a proper place, because there might be a good chance of your loosing this paraphernalia if you are not careful with their storage. After placing the fenders you should be careful enough to place the nuts, bolts, screws etc. in their original sockets. For this it is better for you to mark the places where they are located before removing them. The number of nuts, bolts, screws, clips, brackets, and other small yet important parts might differ from vehicle to vehicle.

You should be careful while removing the front bumpers. You should pull out the bumper firmly but systematically so that you do not break or damage any wire harnesses. After removing the bumper you should carefully disconnect the wire harnesses, and lighting gadgetry. While installing your off road fenders you should be careful about damaging any other parts by unintentional mishandling. Hence, this requires you to maintain your coolness and go about the entire procedure in a step-by-step manner. If you think you are not able to handle any part of the installation process, you should not hesitate in consulting an expert.
